Gamified habit tracking

A gamified habit tracker that makes discipline feel like a game

Habit King turns your daily habits into quests with XP, streaks, levels and leaderboards. Instead of a checkbox that guilts you, you get a progress bar you actually want to fill.

Why gamification works for habits

Habits fail at the feedback stage. You do the work today and only see the result months later, so your brain never connects the effort to a reward. Gamification closes that gap: the reward arrives the second you tick the quest off.

Habit King gives XP per completed quest, a streak bonus for every consecutive day, and a level that goes up as XP accumulates. Nothing about the habit changed — the feedback loop did.

The four game mechanics inside Habit King

  • Quests. Pick habits from the catalog or forge your own. Easy quests grant 10 XP, hard ones up to 50.
  • Streaks. Each consecutive day adds a streak bonus on top of your XP, capped at 250 XP a day.
  • Levels. XP rolls into levels with a clear, readable curve, and a level-up animation you can screenshot.
  • Leaderboards and medallions. An all-time board by level, a weekly XP race that resets every Monday, and medallions for level and streak milestones.

Who it is built for

People who already know what they should be doing — gym, sleep, protein, reading, skincare, less doomscrolling — and need a system that makes it hard to quit. If a plain habit tracker has stopped working for you after week two, a gamified one is the obvious next thing to try.

Frequently asked

What makes a habit tracker gamified?

A gamified habit tracker adds game mechanics on top of the checkbox: experience points for finishing a habit, streaks for consecutive days, levels that unlock as you accumulate XP, and rankings that compare your progress with other people. Habit King uses all four.

Is Habit King free?

Yes. Every feature — quests, XP, streaks, medallions, both leaderboards and friends — is free. The site is funded by a single unobtrusive ad slot.

Do I lose progress if I miss a day?

You lose the streak bonus, not your XP or level. Your total XP and level are permanent, so one bad day never resets your progress.
